Emily Fendley

Emily Fendley, a Monticello High School freshman, received an honorable mention in the Arkansas Art Center Young Artist award competition which showcases artwork by Arkansas students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Works in a huge variety of media are juried by Arkansas art educators and a juror selects a “Best of Class” and two “Honorable Mentions” for each grade. Monetary awards are provided to each winner’s school. Each year, selections from the exhibition travel to schools and other venues in Arkansas as part of the Arts Center’s State Services program. Fendley’s art work is on display at the Arkansas Art Center in Little Rock. Her art teacher is Kim Wilson, the Arkansas Teacher of the Year.
