A donation fund has been set up at Union Bank in Monticello for Bekka McIlvoy, one of the two young Drew County girls who were injured shortly before noon Saturday in a boating accident near Lake Langhofer.

A boat belonging to Jimmy and Donna Brown was pulling two of the Browns’ grandchildren behind the boat on a water raft when a second boat, operated by Richard Holland, passed near the Browns’ boat. Holland said that he thought his boat had gone over a wave but when he looked back, he saw the two children in the water. Holland stopped to help the Browns pull the children from the water, and Donna Brown began administering CPR to one child, according to a Pine Bluff Commercial news report.

The children, aged 9 and 10, were transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. One was later taken by helicopter to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.

A Facebook group prayer page, Prayers of Bekka McIlvoy, has been set up where information is shared about the most seriously injured of the two girls. Also, a donation fund, Bekka’s Donation Fund, has been set up at Union Bank & Trust in Monticello to help with medical and travel expenses. If you would like to help the family with these expenses you can contact the bank at 460-6400 or visit the main bank located on the Monticello town square. There is also a branch of the bank in Warren.
