UAM football players, Jalen Tolliver, Jeremy Jackson, and Christian Jefferson, have been named to All-Super Region 3 teams.

Jalen Tolliver earned himself a First-Team All-Super Region 3 pick after his incredible season while Jackson and Jefferson were both Second-Team All-Super Region 3 selections on the defensive side of the ball.

Tolliver, a senior from Rayville, Louisiana, was also the Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a unanimous All-GAC First Team pick. He concluded the 2017 season with record breaking career totals at Arkansas-Monticello, as he broke both the all-time receiving yards and all-time receiving touchdown records this year. He was tied for first in the nation in receiving touchdowns, and 12th overall in the country in receiving yards. Tolliver finished first in the GAC in receiving yards (1,109), receiving touchdowns (16), total receptions (67), receptions per game (6.1), and receiving yards per game (100.8).

Jackson, a senior from Hahnville, Louisiana, and a former running-back turned corner-back this season, anchored the defensive secondary for UAM this past season. He led the GAC in total passes defended (18), tied for fourth in the nation in the stat category, finished fifth on the team in total tackles with 40, and was tied for first on the squad in interceptions (2).

Jefferson, a sophomore from El Dorado, earned a Second-Team selection after leading the Weevils with 79 total tackles for the year. He ranked ninth in the GAC in tackles, led UAM with two interceptions this season, had seven passes defended, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

“We are very proud of Jeremy, Jalen, and Christian,” said UAM head football coach Hud Jackson. “All three of them represent our football team and university with class and dedication.”

The Weevils finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 5-6 (5-6 GAC).
