The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at the University of Arkansas at Monticello will host a free seminar on how to certify a business to acquire government contracts.
The seminar will be held at Southeast Arkansas College in Pine Bluff on March 23 from 10 a.m. until noon.
Government contracts are available every year for certified businesses. Participants will learn how to obtain the certifications and different types of contract possibilities. The course will benefit those with no experience in government contracting or are relatively new to the process.
Mary Love, a program associate for the Arkansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center, will be a guest speaker.
Love routinely counsels clients concerning federal, state, and local government solicitations and contracts, and assists them with registrations and applications for various state and federal certifications. Love, individually, and at no cost to the clients, educates small businesses concerning all matters necessary for doing business with the various government entities, whether to help them understand the technicalities of a solicitation, a modification to an existing contract, or problems getting paid by the government.
