A Drew County woman is facing felony charges after leading law enforcement officials early Wednesday afternoon on a high speed chase in a stolen vehicle on U.S. 425 South in Drew County. A Crossett man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder in the April 4, 2016 shooting death of Lance Brantley, also of Crossett. Monticello interim mayor David Anderson and Joe Rogers, a former mayor, appear to be headed for a runoff in the special mayoral election. Anderson, a Democrat, finished first with 456 votes and Rogers, an independent, finished second with 389 votes in three 3-man race. Kenneth Williams, sentenced to death for the 1999 slaying of Cecil Boren, a Lincoln County farmer and former prison warden, was executed Thursday night. A McGehee woman was killed and a 35-year-old London woman was injured early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle accident on I-530 in Pulaski County, according to a State Police preliminary accident report.
