Betty Ruth Massey, 77, of Warren, died on July 12, 2017 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.
She was a retired deli manager at Mad Butcher in Warren and Smitty’s in Fordyce. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church and a graduate of the Fordyce High School. She loved playing bridge and cooking for her family.
She was born on December 26, 1939 at Fordyce and was the daughter of the late Herbert James Hay and Ludie Bell Boyer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Orland “Polly” Boyer and a brother, James Earl Hay.
She is survived by two sons, Tommy Massey, Cocoa Beach, Florida and Jimmy Massey of Warren; a daughter, Brenda Savage of Bryant; a sister, Roberta Pennington of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Anna Markham, Marie Massey, Kim Skorcz and Megan Savage; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Austin, Landon, Macy and Gunner; special friends, Chuck Cannon, Leigh Massey, Betty Heird and Bessie Dee West.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Warren with Rev. Canny Kelly officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Martin Skorcz, Derek Markham, Tim Daniels, Colt Daniels, Jake Daniels, and Colby Daniels. Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Cannon, Tim Bunch, Bruce Anderson, Dr. David Chambers, Dr. Balagopalan Nair, Ricky Blann, Ricky Adams, and Patrick Washington.
