Christmas concert at UAM set for December 5

A Christmas concert highlighted by a performance of Leroy Anderson’s A Christmas Festival will be presented by four ensembles of the Division of Music at the University of Arkansas at Monticello on Tuesday, December 5.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the UAM Fine Arts Center auditorium.

Scheduled to perform are the UAM Brass Quintet under the direction of Don Marchand, the UAM Flute Choir under the direction of Leah Venable, the UAM Concert Band, directed by Justin Anders, and the UAM Chamber Choir under the baton of Dr. Kent Skinner.

The concert will feature a variety of Christmas music, including a joint performance by the Concert Choir and Band of Anderson’s A Christmas Festival.  Anderson, who is best known as the composer of Sleigh Ride created an arrangement of some of the best-loved Christmas music in his A Christmas Festival.
