Donald Blansett, 73, of Eudora, passed away on June 10, 2017 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village.
He was born on February 10, 1944 to the late John Darrell and Edith Jewel Spears Blansett in Marked Tree, Arkansas.
Mr. Blansett was an active member of Ross Van Ness Community Church after giving his life to the Lord in 2014. He loved to spend time “people watching” and spending time with his family. He never met a yard sale he didn’t like.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Darrell Blansett Jr. and Roy Land Blansett; and a sister, Faye Knight.
Mr. Blansett is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruby Lee Cain Blansett of Eudora; a daughter, Becky Taylor and husband, James; a grandson, Phillip Taylor and wife Tiffany all of Booneville, Mississippi; two granddaughters, Nicki Taylor of New Albany, Mississippi and Chelsea Stout and husband, Daniel of Baldwyn, Mississippi; a brother, Raymond Blansett and wife, Edith; three sisters, Barbara West and husband, Woodie, Marilyn West, and Margie Johnson all of Eudora; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church in Eudora. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 12, at 1 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Bros. Kenneth Watt and James Kitchens officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Eudora. Services are under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
