Entergy planning 100-megawatt solar farm in Chicot County

Entergy Arkansas is planning a 100-megawatt solar project near Lake Village.

When completed, the Chicot Solar project will be the largest solar farm in the state. The project, which will cost approximately $100 million, will cover more than 800 acres and feature several hundred thousand photovoltaic solar panels that convert the sun’s energy into electricity.

Entergy will work with NextEra Energy Inc., which recently completed an 81-megawatt solar project near Stuttgart.The Stuttgart Solar Energy Center, located about seven miles southeast of Stuttgart, spans about 475 acres.
