Floyd Lott, 80, of Crossett, died on September 3, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Lott was a native of Montrose, a resident of Crossett for more than 50 years, and a former resident of Jones and Bonita Louisiana.
He spent his early years on a farm in Ashley County and was a 1955 honor graduate of Bonita High School. He worked for the Crossett Company and then the Georgia-Pacific Corporation for several years. He began a new career in 1980 tuning, repairing and moving pianos with Griffis House of Music until the store closed in 2005. He then continued tuning and repairing pianos until he hung up his tools at the end of 2015. Early in his life, he showed a talent for singing and sang as part of the Lott Trio with his brother and sister. He was always willing to sing and was called on to fill in with several local groups. He sang with feeling and was careful to choose songs that honored his Savior, Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Ella Mae Evans Lott; two brothers, Raymond and Harold Lott; a sister, JoAnn Lott Simms and three nephews.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sheila Gammel Lott; a stepson, Luke Saucier both of Crossett; a brother, Ralph Lott of Edwards, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 5 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, at 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Doss and Philip Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Egypt Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kenneth Box, Bill Kelley, Brandon, Kelley, Boyd Kusturin, Billy Bolin and Sammy Bolin.
