Gail Griffing Kirtley, 74, of Russellville, formerly of McGehee, died December 7, 2013 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville.
She was a 1957 graduate of McGehee High School and went on to earn a BSE from Arkansas A&M and an MSE from The State College of Arkansas in Special Education. She taught school for 34 years before retiring to Russellville in 1999. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Russellville.
She was born July 15, 1939 in Lake Village and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Margie Griffing.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings Sharon Griffing Palfreeman and Clyde Griffing, Jr.; her children, Karen Kirtley Gonzalez and her husband Samuel, and Earl Kirtley, Jr. and his wife Lisa; her grandchildren, Emily and Lindsey Kirtley, daughters of Earl and Lisa. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will beat Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee on December 10 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., December 10 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Tommy Cunningham officiating. Burial will be at McGehee Cemetery.
