Hamburg residents will go to the polls in September to consider two separate tax increases, each one a half-cent, in a special sales tax election.
One of the half-cent tax hikes, if approved by voters, would provide funding for bonds to pay for the construction of a new fire station and adjacent ambulance station on Main Street.
The other half-cent tax increase, if approved by voters, would fund bonds to pay for improvements at Norman Park.
If one or both of the sales tax requests are approved, the tax(es) would sunset when the bonds are paid off.
The special election will be held on September 12.
