The Taylor Library and Technology Center and the University of Arkansas at Monticello history department are sponsoring a presentation on the internment of Japanese-Americans in relocation camps in Arkansas during World War II.
The presentation will be held on February 1 at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Classroom Building on the University of Arkansas at Monticello campus. Kim Sanders of the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies of the Central Arkansas Library System will present the program.
Sanders’ presentation will include photographs, artwork and documents created during the wartime incarceration. Butler’s program will address themes of identity, community, civil rights and justice.
Sponsoring organizations are the Taylor Library and Technology Center and the UAM history department.
