Kenneth Juan “Sonny” Foreman, 86, of Monticello, passed away on August 13, 2019, at his home after a long hard fight with Alzheimer’s.
He was born on July 9, 1933, in Monticello, to the late Charles Foreman and Lavetra Higgins Foreman.
Mr. Foreman was a retired mechanic, served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Wood Avenue Presbyterian Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his time at his deer camp with family and friends. His love of family knew no boundaries.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Foreman Johnson; two brothers, Billy Foreman and Mike Foreman; and three sisters, Charlsie Wiscaver, Theda Stacks and Patricia “Tish” Welch.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Foreman of Monticello; his daughter, Lisha “Lu” Davis and husband Bob of Hamburg; a son, Jay Foreman of Monticello; his son-in-law, Curt Johnson of Monticello; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Todd, Mary, Nancy, Patrick, Michael and Tristan; eight great-grandchildren; and a special family friend, Andy Mahfouz.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery at Rye. Family visitation will be Friday, August 16 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
