Larry Stephen Coulter, 62 of Montrose, died February 16, 2014 at Little Rock.
A former mayor of Montrose and past president of the Hamburg Rotary Club, Mr. Coulter was active in the Arkansas South Tourism Board, Southeast Cornerstone Coalition, Ashley County Extension Council, Delta Leadership Institute, Kentucky Colonel, Southeast Arkansas Development District, Ashley County Home Town Health Council and the Southeast Arkansas Regional Literacy Council.
He was a graduate of Rhema Bible College and was an ordained minister. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Germany and France.
Mr. Coulter served as Mayor of Montrose for 14 years and loved to collect presidential buttons. He was president of the McGehee High School class of 1969.
Mr. Coulter was born July 8, 1951, in Dermott and was the son of the late Roy and Hazel Boyd Taylor Coulter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Frank Coulter and his sister, Barbara Morphis.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Coulter of Montrose and Timothy (Carrie) Coulter of Yazoo City, Miss.; brother, Vernon Coulter of Montrose; grandchildren, Jonathan Golden, Cory Coulter, Bailey Coulter, Collin Coulter and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held February 19 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Funeral services will be held February 20 at 2 p.m., at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Jack Woods officiating. Burial will be at McGehee Cemetery.
