University of Arkansas at Monticello women’s golfer Lauren Johnson has been selected to compete in the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships at the Central Super Regional.
Johnson qualified as the No. 5 individual for the Central Region Championship Tournament, which will be held on May 8-10 at the Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with Augustana University serving as the host. This is the second time in school history to have national tournament qualifiers in women’s golf and the second straight selection for Johnson.
Johnson, a senior from Dewitt, recently earned her third straight All-Great American Conference honor, and just finished up at the Great American Conference Championships in Hot Springs with a 10th place finish.
Each super regional will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently with 12 teams and 6 individuals from non-qualifying teams at each site. All participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top three teams, along with the top three individuals not with a team from each super regional, will advance to the championships.
