Authorities Sunday afternoon recovered the body of a Cleveland County man who apparently drowned Sunday while swimming in the Saline River.

Miguel Nuñez, 25, was swimming near the Vince Bluff access point of the Saline River with an adult female and three children when he went down river toward a rope swing. He went underwater and did not resurface.

When attempts by several witnesses to locate Nuñez were not successful, witnesses contacted the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.

At 1:15 p.m. the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a possible drowning. Deputies responded and sought the assistance of the Arkansas Game and Fish. Several Game and Fish officers responded.

At approximately 3:15 p.m. Nuñez’s body was recovered from the river.
