Mary Armstrong Tanksley, 76, of Crossett, died on August 6, 2017 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado.
Mrs. Tanksley was a native of Augusta, Arkansas; a resident of Crossett for the past year and a former resident of Parkdale and Eudora. She worked at the Eudora Garment Factory for 30 years and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Eudora. Her priority in life was taking care of her husbands, sons and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Ray Tanksley in 2016 and Oliver Armstrong in 1997; a son, Larry Armstrong in 2008; her parents, L.D. and Margaret Ingle Smith; three brothers, Donald, Arthur “Bill” and Jerry Smith and a sister, Betty Tanksley.
She is survived by a son, Michael Armstrong and wife, Linda Jo, of Crossett; a daughter-in-law, Terry Ruth Armstrong of Eudora; a sister, Gloria Ann Harris of Andrews, Texas; three grandchildren, Gerad Armstrong and wife Tina, Tara Beth Giebel and husband, Mike, and Mary Katherine Armstrong; four great-grandchildren, Marisa and Case Oliver Armstrong , Kaylee and Zoey Giebel and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 8, at 10 a.m. at the Parkdale Cemetery with Rev. Lyle Hern officiating.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
