Smithfield, Swon Brothers to headline Ding Dong Days

Dumas will cap a week of festivities Saturday night when Smithfield and the Swon Brothers perform at the annual Ding Dong Days on October 28 at Memorial Park in Dumas.

Smithfield will perform at 7:30 p.m., followed by The Swon Brothers at 9:15 p.m.

The week-long festivities include:

Tuesday, October 24
5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Ding Dong Daddy Dinner at the Dumas Community Center. Tickets $15
Ding Dong Daddy and Mama announced at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, October 26
10 a.m “Laying of the Wreath” at W.B. Dumas gravesite
6 p.m. Bobcat Community Pep Rally
6 – 10 p.m. Carnival opening (armband night) at Memorial Park. Armbands $20.
7:30 – 9 p.m. – FUMC UMY – Haunted Hayride at Memorial Park-  $5 per person

Friday, October 27
3 p.m. Arbor Day Celebration
6- 11 p.m. Carnival Memorial Park.
7 p.m. Dumas vs Monticello football game at Tidwell Field
10 p.m. – midnight – FUMC UMY – Haunted Hayride at Memorial Park – $5 per person

Saturday, October 28
6:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Merle Peterson Pancake Breakfast $5 at First United Methodist Church

Memorial Park
8 a.m. BBQ Cook-off
10 a.m. – 11 p.m. Carnival (Armbands: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. $20)
10 a.m. Live music, inflatables, balloon artist, face painting, pumpkin decorating contest, arts & crafts, vendors
11 a.m. – Razorback Watch Party
11 a.m. – Beer & wine tent opens (all alcoholic beverages consumed must be purchased at beer and wine tent. No ice chests will be permitted in the park.
12 noon – Mandy Harris Baggo Tournament (Proceeds go to Mandy Harris Scholarship Fund)
1 p.m. – Pet Show
2 p.m. – Horseshoe Tournament, Ding Dong Eating Contest
7:30 – midnight – FUMC UMY  Haunted Hayride – $5 per person
7:30 p.m. – Smithfield
9:15 p.m. – The Swon Brothers

Sunday, October 29
2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Desha County Museum Open House
