Harvey named athletics director; will continue as baseball coach

John Harvey, the most successful baseball coach in University of Arkansas at Monticello history, has been appointed UAM’s director of athletics. Harvey assumed the role of interim athletics director in November while continuing as head baseball coach following the departure of Chris Ratcliff. Harvey will continue to coach the Boll Weevil baseball team, which he has led to a record of 193-146 in seven seasons. Four out of 10 Arkansas resident waterfowl hunters have pursued ducks on wildlife management areas for six years or less, according to a recent survey completed by the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Survey Research Center. The University of Arkansas at Monticello men’s basketball team was named the NCAA Division II Program of the Year, Thursday afternoon by the Arkansas Basketball Coaches Association. Tolin signs multi-year contract

Kyle Tolin accomplished something in 2017 that no University of Arkansas at Monticello men’s basketball coach had been able to achieve in 61 years; he led his team to a conference championship. Alligator hunt permit application: June 15-30

Applications for the 2017 Arkansas alligator season will be available at agfc.com, beginning June 15. The deadline is midnight, June 30. This year marks the eleventh season of modern-day alligator hunting in Arkansas.
