UAM – Oklahoma Baptist series moved to Sunday, Monday

The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team will travel to Shawnee, Oklahoma this weekend to play Oklahoma Baptist in a three-game GAC series. The games, originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, have been moved to Sunday and Monday due to the possibility of inclement weather moving in around Shawnee, Oklahoma.

The Weevils will face the Bison in a single game on Sunday at 2 p.m. and wrap up the series with a doubleheader on Monday starting at 1 p.m.

WEEK IN REVIEW
The Weevils (10-8, 7-2 GAC) come into the week after finishing 4-0 the previous week, defeating Harding and Southern Nazarene all at home. UAM is also currently riding a seven-game win streak after last week’s GAC series sweep of SNU.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
The Bison are coming off being swept by GAC member Southern Arkansas this past weekend in Magnolia. OBU is led on the year offensively by Josh Timms hitting .375 and Brett Berghammer at .339 overall. While Timms leads the club in home-runs with three, Zane Gelphman leads the team in runs batted in with 20. Pitching wise the Bison are led by Jinny Parra with a 3-1 record, 3.07 earned run average, and 28 total strikeouts. Zach Fowler also provides solids outings on the hill with a 2-1 record this season and leads the program in strikeouts at 33.
