The University of Arkansas at Monticello men’s golf team began the 2017 spring season at the Dave Falconer Classic in Danville where they finished 12th overall out of 16 teams.
Freshman Stephane Perrin led UAM in the tournament with an overall score of 148 (72-76) on the day and placed in a tie for 21st overall.
Fellow freshman Wilson Powell shot a 155 (79-76) combined to finish in a tie for 54th, Jeffrey Whitson shot a 157 (78-79) to place tied for 62nd, and both Joseph Lemieux (81-77) and Bryan Witmer (76-82) finished in a tie for 69th with a combined score fo 158.
Lindenwood University was the top team in the event out of 16 total teams, with a two-round score of 586, followed by Henderson State in second at 587, and Arkansas Tech in third with a score of 590.
The Weevils will compete next in the Broncho Invitational, Monday-Tuesday on March 20-21 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the Gaillardia Country Club.
