Velma Lee Wallace, 82, of Lake Village died on September 10, 2019 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.
She was born on October 29, 1936 in Harrisburg and was the daughter of the Elvin Lloyd and Nettie Strickland Henderson.
Mrs. Wallace was married to Charles “Chalk” Wallace for 46 years and was a paraprofessional and cheerleading coach at the Lakeside School District for many years. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Wallace was preceded by three brothers, Johnnie, Eugene, and Bob Henderson, and one sister, Lela Wright.
She is survived by two sons, Chuck Wallace of Lake Village and Tony Wallace (Carol), of Conway; a daughter, Savanna Smith (Patrick) of Little Rock; two granddaughters, Ashley Simpson (EJ) and Megan Reaves (Nathan); a grandson, Mark Wallace; four great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Barrett Simpson, Ellie Wallace, and Kyleigh Reaves; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday September 13, at 2 p.m. at Lakeside United Methodist Church in Lake Village. Visitation will follow funeral services until 4 p.m. A private burial will be at Bolivar Cemetery in Harrisburg.
