Walter “Walt” A. Hill, 76, of Dumas, passed away on November 10, 2017 at JRMC in Pine Bluff.
He was born on June 25, 1941 in Beedeville, Arkansas to the late Dewey and Essie Harris Hill.
Mr. Hill retired after 20 years from the U.S. Army where he received honors, Purple Heart, Silver Star, Bronze Star and CMB. He was the previous owner of F&W Manufacturing for 14 years. He served on the Bradley Christian Camp board of directors and the Pea Ridge Water Association. He was a member of the VFW and the Dark Corner Christian Church in Gould.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Morris.
Survivors are his wife, Frances Hill of Dumas; a son, Brian (Lisa) Hill of Dumas; three daughters, Lisa Morris of Hernando, Mississippi, Sheila (Tom) Harrison of Altus, Oklahoma and Angel Ivey of Rogers; a brother, L.D. Hill of Missouri; three sisters, Shirley Shell of Mill Springs, Missouri, Pat Phillips of Clinton, Missouri and Lois Venable of Popular Bluff, Missouri; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Revs. Tom Bowlby and J.R. Hill officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Lake Cemetery in Dumas.
