William Jerald Selby, 76, of Portland, died on November 15, 2017.
Mr. Selby was a native of Boliver County, Mississippi, a resident of Portland for more than 40 years and a resident of the Dermott City Nursing Home for the past two years.
He was a veteran of the United States Army who served in Vietnam, an agricultural pilot in the Portland area for over 25 years and a member of the Portland United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Casey and Annie Laura Gilmer Selby.
He is survived by a son, Jerad Wayne Selby and wife, Missy Brooks Selby, of Portland; a daughter, Kellie Ann Selby of Alexandria, Virginia; a brother, Dennis Selby and wife, Diane, of Huntsville, Alabama; a grandson, Lane Hunter; a niece, Jennifer Selby Freer and a nephew, Casey Selby.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 20, in the Portland Cemetery with Bro. Ben Coulter officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:45 a.m. until 10 a.m., Monday at the cemetery.
