A Drew County man was killed and another was injured following a single vehicle accident shortly after 11 p.m. Monday night in Drew County.
Perry Lee Reed, 65, of Monticello died in the accident and Clark Kent Goudy, 53, also of Monticello, was injured, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.
Goudy, the driver of a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, and Reed, his passenger, were traveling west on the Lacey-New Hope road when Goudy lost control of the truck on the wet roadway. The truck entered the ditch on the west side of the road and struck a tree on the passenger side before it hit another tree head-on, according a narrative in the preliminary accident report.
Trooper Ross Allen investigated the accident for the Arkansas State Police.
At least 228 people have have died as a result of accidents on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary figures.
