An 84-year-old Lake Village woman was killed and three others were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. 65 and Arkansas 35 at Dermott, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.
Marie Raye Moss, 84, of Lake Village, was traveling west on Arkansas Highway 35 and failed to yield at its intersection with U.S. 65 causing her 2015 Nissan to be struck on the passenger side by a 2018 Toyota traveling south on U.S 65, according to the police report.
Moss’ passenger, Chaunea Mosley, 41, of Lake Village, was injured, along with the driver of the Toyota, Randal Maxwell, 68, and his passenger, Roselinda Maxwell, 70, both of Ferriday, Louisiana.
The accident occurred Friday at 12:40 p.m. Travel conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
At least 341 people have died on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary figures.
