A three-vehicle accident Friday night on U.S. 65 in Chicot County claimed the life of a Chicot County man and injured four others, according to State Police.
Patrick F. Scott, 55, of Eudora, was killed in the accident, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.
Chkyiah Keyara Wiley, 22, of Monroe, Louisiana; Darren Lamar Toney, 35, of Lake Village; a minor (name, age, and city of residence, not disclosed); and Terry Flowers, 27, of Ruleville, Mississippi, were all injured in the accident, according to the accident report.
Scott was traveling south on U.S. 65 in a Chrysler 300, attempting to pass a southbound Kia Rio driven by Chkyiah Keyara Wiley, when he struck Flowers’ northbound Volvo head on. The Wiley and Scott vehicles then collided. Toney and the minor were passengers in the Wiley vehicle, according to the accident report.
Scott was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene of the accident. Those injured in the accident were transported to Chicot Memorial Hospital.
The accident occurred at 10:40 p.m. on September 13. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident, according to the report.
At least 342 people have died as a result of accidents on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary figures.
