Cell phones believed to contain names and phone numbers of people suspected of purchasing illegal drugs, along with what law enforcement officials believe to be drugs and drug sale proceeds were reportedly seized during a recent search of a Monticello man’s home, according to a news release from the 10th Judicial District Drug Task Force.
ReCarlos Levincent Clark, 27, of Monticello, was arrested as he attempted to exit the back of his the residence when Drug Task Force agents, Monticello police and Drew County sheriff’s officers arrived to execute a search warrant. It was the second search warrant executed at the residence this year, according to Lt. Jason Akers, supervising agent of the Drug Task Force.
Akers said officers located what they believe to be cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana and drug sale proceeds, as well as digital scales commonly used in weighing drugs, and the cell phones.
Clark faces possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia charges, and possibly other charges, Akers said.
Circuit Judge Sam Pope set Clark’s bond at $15,000.
A second suspect was detained but later released, Akers said.
