Two Dumas residents were killed and three others were injured in a single-vehicle accident Thursday night in Dumas.
Michael R. Wormley, 23, of Dumas, was driving south on Main Street in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.
Two passengers in the vehicle, Anna N. Joyner, 23, and Kiyeshia R. Croom, 20, died of injuries sustained in the crash.
Wormley, was injured along with two additional passengers, Rachel L. Mitchell, 23, and Quatarius R. L. Lee, according to State Police.
The crash occurred at 9:50 p.m. The roadway was dry and the weather was clear.
At least 147 people have have died as a result of accidents on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary figures.
