Twenty-six seniors from the University of Arkansas at Monticello have been selected to appear in the 2013 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.

The students were selected based on recommendation by faculty, administrators or professional staff for a combination of academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular and community activities.  This year’s honorees are:
• Tracey Bratton of Monticello, a social work major. Bratton is a member of the Student Social Work Association, Phi Alpha, and the National Association of Social Workers.

• RaeAnn Carman of Heber Springs, a middle level education major with emphasis on mathematics and science. Carman is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Alpha Chi national collegiate honor society,Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, and the concert band.

• Jessica Choate of Blevins, a double major in marketing and exercise science/coaching. Choate’s honors and activities include selection to the Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List as well as Alpha Chi. She is a member of the Marketing Club, the Missionary BaptistStudent Fellowship, and was a member of both the UAM cross country and women’s basketball teams. She was also a member of the Physical Education and Exercise Science Club and was selected to the Great American Conference All-AcademicTeam.

• Christopher Church of Warren, an agribusiness and military science double major. Church has served as president of the Collegiate Farm Bureau and vice president of programming for Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He is a member of the UAM Collegiate Bass Club, Agriculture Club, an ROTC cadet, and a member of the Dean’s List.

• Tessa Cucurullo of Monticello, a biochemistry and pre-medicine major. Cucurullo’s activities and honors include serving as president of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, vice president of SigmaZeta national mathematics and science honor society, and as a member of the UAM Student Ambassadors. She is a member of the Biology and Medical Science Clubs, Alpha Chi, and has been named to both the Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List.

• Rex Davis of Monticello, a social work and political science double major. Davis is president of Phi Alpha honor society for social work majors, president of the Student Social Work Association, an Iraq-Afghanistan veteran, and an alumni member of the Wounded Warrior Project.

• Anastasia Duff of Dermott, a communication and psychology double major. Duff is vice president of the Student Government Association, a member and activities coordinator for Zeta Phi Beta sorority, a member of the Theatre Club, Pi Kappa Delta, the DebateTeam, and Dean’s List.

• Bobby Evans of Memphis, Tenn., an animal science and pre-veterinary medicine major. Evans has served as a resident assistant for four years and a head resident for one.  He is a member of the Debate Team, Agriculture Club, Farm Bureau, and the UAM Cost Containment Committee.

• Jason Higgins of Monticello, a double major in English and history. Higgins has served as president of Sigma Tau Delta English honor society, secretary of Phi Alpha Theta and president of the Theatre Club.  He is a member of Alpha Chi, the Arkansas Philological Association, the Arkansas Council of Teachers of English and Language, the French Club, Creative Society, Dean’s List, and Chancellor’s List.

• Kacie Johnson of Eudora, an animal science major. Johnson is a member of the Agriculture Club, the UAM StudentAmbassadors, the Collegiate Farm Bureau, Alpha Chi, the Chancellor’s List, and the Dean’s List.

• Julian Jones of Star City, a health and physical education major. Jones is a member of the Health and Physical Education Club, Kappa Delta Pi, and the Dean’s List.

• Olivia Livingston of Lake Village, a double major in biology and biochemistry. Livingston is a member of the UAM Student Ambassadors, the Biology Club, Sigma Zeta, the Dean’s List, and the Chancellor’s List.

• Olivia Long of Hamburg, a biology major. Long is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, which she has served as vice president. She is also a member of the Biology Club, Spanish Club, andSigma Zeta.

• Samantha Montgomery of Rison, a political science major. Montgomery is the current president of the Student Government Association. Her other activities include service as chairman of the Student Activities Board and membership on the Debate Team, Pi Sigma Alpha, Pi Kappa Delta, and the Dean’s List.

• Terry Montgomery of Watson, a criminal justice major. Montgomery is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, the Missionary Baptist Student Fellowship, a resident assistant, and was selected to the Dean’s List for seven semesters.

• Quinton Morgan of Monticello, a double major in history and modern language. Morgan is a student assistant in the Office of Financial Aid. He is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, Delta Zeta Upsilon, the Arkansas Archeological Society, Horizons Program, the Dean’s List, and the Chancellor’s List.

• Nicki Norrell of Hamburg, a double major in biology and biochemistry. Norrell is a member of the UAM Student Ambassadors, Sigma Zeta, the Biology Club, Weevils for Christ, Girls of Promise, the concert choir, the Dean’s List, and the Chancellor’s List.

• Sandra Powell of Warren, a middle level education major with an emphasis in mathematics and science. Powell is president of Kappa Delta Pi, a member of Alpha Chi, and an eight-time selection to the Chancellor’s List.

• Kelly Reed of Bentonville, a political science and communication double major. Reed is a member if Pi Kappa Delta, the Debate Society, Alpha Chi, Chancellor’s List, and president of the Law and Justice Society.

• Trent Roberts of Southlake, Tex., a biology and biochemistry double major. Roberts is president of Weevils for Christ and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Zeta, the Biology Club, Medical Science Club, and Dean’s List.

• Erin Selby of Portland, a business administration major. Selby is a member of Alpha Chi, the Baptist College Ministry, the Dean’s List, and the Chancellor’s List.

• Tarvinder Singh of McGehee, a mathematics and physics double major. Singh is a member of the Mathematics and Physics Club, Sigma Zeta, and the Dean’s List.

• Candace Virgadamo of Conroe, Tex., an accounting major. Virgadamo was captain of the UAM women’s basketball team and selected to the Great American Conference All-Academic Team. She is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the Institute of Management Accountants, Alpha Chi, and the Dean’s List.

• Andrea Welch of Crossett, a psychology major. Welch is a member of Psi Chi honor society for psychologymajors, Alpha Chi, the Biology Club, the UAM Student Ambassadors, and the Dean’s List.

• Joel Whipple of Star City, a biochemistry and physics double major. Whipple is a member of Alpha Chi and a four-time selection to the Chancellor’s List.

• Roy Wisecarver of Crossett, a double major in history and political science. Wisecarver is president of Phi Alpha Theta national history honor society, Alpha Chi, the Dean’s List, and Chancellor’s List.  He was honored for presenting the best undergraduate paper at a Phi Alpha Theta regional conference.
