Two women and a minor were killed and three minors were injured in a head-on collision Saturday afternoon on U.S. 63 in Bradley County.

Britnee Hampton, 27, of Warren was traveling north on U.S. 63 when the 2008 Pontiac Torrent she was driving crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a southbound 2015 model Mercedes driven by Karla Herrera, 37, also of Warren, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.

After impact, the Hampton vehicle rotated clockwise and came to a final rest in the southbound lane facing west. The Herrera vehicle rotated counter-clockwise and came to a final rest on the east shoulder of the roadway, according to the accident report.

Hampton, Herrera, and one minor passenger in Hampton’s vehicle died. Three other minors in Hampton’s vehicle were injured. The injured minors were transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff and to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.

The crash occurred at 1:40 p.m. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry.

At least 375 people have been killed on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
