Unemployment claims in Arkansas are also increasing each day.

Gov. Hutchinson said more than 9,000 claims were filed last week. So far this week, there have been 8,000 claims filed, including 700 Wednesday morning.

“This volume of claims is unprecedented in our history, in any economic time,” Hutchinson said. “We are processing them as quickly as we can. I know the wait time on the telephone line, I think is over 25 minutes, so be patient we’ll get to it.”
