Five Star City High School students were named finalists in Representative Rick Crawford’s Congressional Art Competition.

Arista Wilkerson, 9th grade; Autumn Jackson, 10th grade; and Courtney Malone, 12th grade were all named finalists in the drawing category.

Britney Smith, 11th grade and Kaitlyn Nicholson, 11th grade were both named finalists in the mixed media category.

The 2018 Congressional Art Competition included over 400 entries from over 40 schools in Arkansas’ First Congressional District.

Other Star City High School students with artwork entered in the competition include Maddie Anders, 9th grade; Kade Carter, 9th grade; Mackenzie Kimball, 9th grade; Kimbreunna Turner, 9th grade; Alee Dewease, 10th grade; Jaterra Early, 10th grade; John Elrod, 10th grade; Josie Floyd, 10th grade; Alexia Lams, 10th grade; Josh Montgomery, 11th grade; Alek Taylor, 11th grade; Kaleah Bohlmann, 12th grade; Madelann Cash, 12th grade; Dillon Cullins, 12th grade; and Sadie Whaley, 10th grade.

The students are under the instruction of art teacher Roger Darren High.
