A. O. French, 83, of Dumas, passed away on June 18, 2018.
He was born October 15, 1934 in Tyro to Arch O. and Eugenia Collins French. A.O. was the youngest of three sons.
In addition to his parents, Mr. French was preceded in death by his wife, Corynn Moore French; son, David French; granddaughter, Melissa Virginia Smith; and his brother, Robert French.
After completing college at Southern State, Mr. French returned to Dumas where he taught and coached in the Dumas school system. He then returned to farming full time.
Mr. French is survived by his children, Debra French Smith (Junior) of Fayetteville; Tracy Moore French (Rita) of Cabot; Arlynn French Rector (Greg) of Siloam Springs; brother, Billy Bert French of Hot Springs; Grandchildren, Jeremy W. Smith (Lety), Greg Smith (Lindsay), Maggie French Collins (Luke), Brad French (Lindsey), Daniel French, David Rector (Danielle), Jacob Rector, Tracie French Cash (Nathan), Katie Rector, Collin French. Great grand kids, Cici Smith, Melissa Smith, Abby Smith, Logan French, Layton French, Cruz Collins and Will French; and his dear Lois Brantley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 20 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 21 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dubs Byers officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Lake Cemetery in Pickens.
