Abie Gerald “Jerry” Dixon, 74, of Crossett, passed away on April 22, 2014 at UAMS in Little Rock.

Mr. Dixon served in the U. S. Air Force, was a Millwright for Georgia Pacific and was a Baptist.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening, reading and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Mr. Dixon was born on June 8, 1939 in Crossett and was the son of Katherine Stratton Dixon and the late Palmer Carl Dixon.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Strahan Dixon of Crossett; one son, Gerald Palmer Dixon of Crossett; one daughter, Lisa Dixon Whitlock of Farmerville, La.; his mother, Katherine Stratton Dixon of Crossett; one brother, Bill Dixon of Crossett; one sister, Mary Whitworth of Benton and two grandchildren, Casey Dixon and Cristine Dixon.

Funeral services will be held on April 25 at 10 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Crossett with Bro. Lyle Hern officiating.

Burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
