Arkansas Attorney General candidates Nate Steel and Leslie Rutledge will be the guest speakers at the July 14 meeting of the Southeast Arkansas TEA Party.
Steel, the Democratic nominee, is serving his second term in the Arkansas House of Representatives for District 19 which encompasses Sevier County and part of Howard County. He is a former deputy prosecutor and county attorney for Howard County.
Rutledge, a former Republican National Committee lawyer and attorney for ex-Gov. Mike Huckabee, defeated Little Rock attorney David Sterling in a runoff to win the Republican nomination.
Libertarian Party nominee Aaron Cash of Springdale will also be on the ballot.
The meeting, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., will be held at the Living Word Fellowship Church on U.S. 425 South in Monticello, across the highway from the Ryburn Automotive Supercenter. The church is located in the south end of the building housing Cowboy’s restaurant. The meeting is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
