Allie Jones, 74, of Star City, passed away March 30, 2022 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
She was born May 6, 1947 in Dumas to the late Charlie C. and Grace Miller Nicholson.
She attended Overcoming Faith Worship Center and was a self-employed housekeeper. She loved reading, watching westerns, and going to yard sales.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Orvel Vermillion; five brothers, Dennis Nicholson, Jim Nicholson, Joe Nicholson, Tommy Nicholson, and Bill Nicholson; and five sisters, Dorothy Wrinkle, Jackie Danley, Johnnie Skidgel, Norma Lee Haire, and Connie Nicholson.
Survivors include a son, Joel (Stacy) Vermillion of White Hall; daughter, Melissa Tubbs of Star City; three sisters, Betty (Ray) Harrison of Star City, Carolyn (Steve) Reeves of Star City, and Lola Calliotte of Texarkana; six grandchildren, Jason Dobson, Joel Vermillion, Jr., Zack Vermillion, Taylor Magness, Terra Jones, and Kyle Vermillion; and many great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 1 at 2:30 p.m. at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Bro. Don Borland officiating. Visitation is Friday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers are Dennis Nicholson, Joey Nicholson, James Wrinkle, Ben Reeves, Daniel Reeves, and Ronnie Magness. Honorary pallbearers are Logan Magness and Mason Magness. The family will be at the home of Betty Harrison.
