Alma Ruth Pooree, 85 of Star City, passed away November 30, 2021 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
She was born May 26, 1936 in Calhoun County to the late Herman Gaston and Mary Louise Crowder Martindale.
She was retired from School Apparel in the cutting department.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Frank Pooree; two brothers, Clifton Martindale and Leonard Martindale; and a sister, Virginia Cullins.
Survivors include son, Randall (Stephanie) Pooree of Star City; daughter, Barbara (Buddy) Griffin of Newport; three brothers, Marcus Martindale of Rison, Charles Martindale and Gene Martindale, both of Star City; and four sisters, Nell Rogers of Pine Bluff, Catherine Clark of Yellville, Watheda Hollis of Rison, and Juanita Garner of Grapevine; six grandchildren, Jenna Shea (Anthony) Cantrell of Cave Springs, Randi (Justin) Baer of Melissa, Texas, Ashton (Jordan) Frizzell and Laurin (Kyle) Harrod, both of Star City, Bobby Griffin of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Brittany Meyer of Bradenton, Florida; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jordan Johnson of New Orleans, Louisiana, Jadyn Johnson of Cave Springs, Kaylin Weiskopf and Kathryn Anne Recanati, both of Bradenton, Florida, Jestyn Frizzell and Evelyn Frizzell, both of Star City, Briles Baer and Bowen Baer, both of Melissa, Texas, and Cannon Cantrell and Logan Cantrell, both of Cave Springs.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 2, at 2 p.m. at Drake Cemetery with Bro. Bill Davidson officiating. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Amy’s Animal Rescue, PO Box 184, Star City, AR 71667.
