David Anderson, a Democrat and a former mayor who is currently serving as interim mayor, won a runoff Tuesday night against Joe Rogers for mayor of Monticello.

Anderson garnered 554 votes while the Rogers, also a former mayor of Monticello and an independent, received 508 votes.

Anderson will serve until December 31, 2018, completing the term of former Monticello Mayor Zack Tucker who resigned on January 17.:
