Anita B. Hicks, 76, of Hamburg, died on Friday, May 12, 2017 at her residence.
She was a native of Camden and a resident of Hamburg since 1962.
Mrs. Hicks was a homemaker and worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory for 27 years and Jade Grocery for five years. She was a member of the Judson Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the cornerstone of the Hicks family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Jimmie Vaughan Harrington; two brothers, Alford & Alfous Harrington; three sisters, Darlene Sims, Loretta Bryant and Joyce Dyer.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Hicks of Hamburg; a son, William “Michael” Hicks and wife, Jessie, of Hermitage; two sisters, Estelle Harrington of Shreveport, Louisiana and Vickie Phillips of Farmington, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Kerstie, Victoria, Sawyer and Zack; five great-grandchildren, Anita, Kaydence, Collin, Karson and Daniel and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 15 at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ed Hill officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery.
