Annie Jo McGee Farrar

Annie Jo McGee Farrar, 86, of Pine Bluff, received her crown of life December 19 at the home of her daughter in Searcy.

Ann was born in Dumas to Joe and Lorene McGee on September 22, 1935.

The family moved from Dumas to the family farm property near Star City. Ann graduated from the Star City High School in 1955 and soon after married the love of her life, Kenneth T. Farrar on May 27, 1955.

Ann was retired from the Pine Bluff School District where she worked 27 years at Forest Park Elementary School. Ann was a long-time member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church of Pine Bluff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Joe and Mrs. Lorene.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth; her son, Rickey Farrar of Pine Bluff; her daughter, Renee Lankford and husband Jim of Searcy and her most prized passion of all, her only grandson, Jacob Allen Lankford of Searcy. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Aldridge, Sue Temple and husband Van, and her brothers, Edward McGee and Michelle and Jerry McGee, all of Star City and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Ann was a devoted wife and partner to Kenneth and devoted mother to Ricky and Renee. She loved her family dearly and was the most excited mamaw to be when she learned the news of her grandson, Jacob. Jacob became the priority to love and spoil.

Visitation for Ann will be Thursday, December 23 at noon. at the Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Star City. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the McGee family cemetery on Goodfellow Road in Star City.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, FL. 17, Chicago, IL 60601. We want to thank the staff of Hospice Home Care of Searcy. We also want to thank all of our friends for all the cards, food, phone calls, and especially all the prayers and support during this time.
