Ardelia H. McKinney, 94, of Warren, died December 11, 2013 at Bradley County Medical Center.

Mrs. McKinney graduated from New Edinburg High School in 1937 and received her teaching certification from A&M College in Monticello in 1939. She taught school at in Pine Knot Elementary School at Rye for three years.

She held her husband’s employment position at the Bradley Store while he served in the United States Navy during World War II and later worked for her him as bookkeeper for 28 years while he was a logging contractor for Potlatch Lumber Company. She was an avid homemaker and was a home room mother throughout her children’s school years. She was actively involved in Calvary Baptist Church serving as church clerk and hostess for many years.

Mrs. McKinney was born February 26, 1919 in Cleveland County and was the daughter of the late Ivy Harrelson and Marie Reynolds Harrelson.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Versel McKinney; a brother, W.E. Harrelson; and a son-in-law, Johnny Womble.

She is survived by her son, Ted McKinney and spouse Maribel, Ruston, La.; a daughter, Barbara Womble of Crossett; four grandchildren, April Michelle Knight of Crossett, Challys Marie Williams and spouse Kevin, Simsboro, La., Barry Womble and spouse Dixie, Humble, Texas, and Ryan Womble, of Crossett; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren on December 14 at 1:30 p.m. with burial at Moseley Cemetery.
