2016 Polar Plunge

The Area 12 Special Olympics Polar Plunge will be held on February 27 at Weevil Pond on the University of Arkansas at Monticello campus.

Individuals will raise a minimum of $50 each then plunge in the chilly water to benefit Special Olympics. Plungers may plunge solo or with a team, such as a group of friends or co-workers. If plunging with a team, each team member must raise at least $50.

Registration is at noon. The awards ceremony is at 1:30 p.m. and the plunge is immediately after the awards ceremony.

Awards will be presented for best costumes and most money raised.

Those who are “too chicken to plunge,” but would like to make a donation to Special Olympics can do so by purchasing an official “I Chickened Out” t-shirt for $25.

Special Olympics Area 12 provides services to more than 300 athletes in eight counties in Southeast Arkansas: Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Chicot, Cleveland, Dallas, Desha, and Drew.
