Arthur Richard “Dick” Powell

Arthur Richard “Dick” Powell, 85, of Watson, passed away January 27, 2022, in Dumas.

He was born April 17, 1936, in Maulden, Arkansas and was the son of the late Arthur Jim and Mamie A. Golden Powell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Powell, eight sisters and three brothers.

Mr. Powell was a member of Watson Assembly of God Church and was employed thirty plus years for Wells-Lamont in McGehee.

Dick never met a stranger, if he met you once he knew you from then on. He had a wonderful sense of humor, just ask the six pretty ladies serving as honorary pallbearers. He was a daughter’s daddy.

Survivors are three daughters, Debbie and husband Buddy Worring of Humphries, Ann and husband Denny Babb of Hughes, and Angie and husband Terry Fortenberry of Watson and one special daughter, Alexis Powell of Carthage, North Carolina; a sister, Johnnie Grider of Dumas; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.

Visitation and services will be held Saturday, January 29, at Watson Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be held from from 3 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Roger Pierce will officiate. Burial will be at Watson Cemetery.
