The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center helps Arkansans fulfill their dreams of starting new businesses, buying existing businesses, expanding their business or commercializing their research or new technology. Centers are located at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Fayetteville, and Monticello as well as Arkansas State University, Southern Arkansas University, Arkansas Tech University, and Henderson University. Collectively, those centers helped clients across the state secure more than $65 million in loans and other capital for their business ventures.

In addition to assisting clients with small business loans, the ASBTDC offers market research, training workshops and seminars. Businesses assisted by the ASBTDC create more jobs and increase sales more than the average business in Arkansas, according to the news release. Citing a 2015 economic impact study, the ASBTDC said its clients increased their sales 24 percent more than the average business. ASBTDC consultants work one-on-one with clients and there is no charge for their consulting services.
