Ashley County Sheriff David Johnson, who is currently serving his third term, has announced that he will seek reelection.
Johnson law enforcement career spans three decades, including five years as Ashley County Sheriff. As sheriff, Johnson was instrumental in getting accreditation for the office’s various departments, often saying “a well-trained force means better protection for the community from criminals as well as lawsuits.”
“Our community and their Sheriff’s Office have developed and will continue to enhance meaningful problem solving partnerships based upon trust, respect, engagement and open communications,” Johnson said. “I am dedicated to ensuring that our partnerships remain strong and that we work together to continue to make Ashley County a safe place to live, raise families, conduct business and enjoy life.”
