The Southeast Arkansas Concert Association will present two special February 14 performances of Ballet Arkansas’ Beyond Category featuring Ballet Arkansas dancers performing classical ballet pieces to Tchaikovsky and Granados as well as acts devoted to the great musical genres of jazz and blues and a contemporary ballet to classic rock. The performances will be at the University of Arkansas at Monticello Fine Arts Center auditorium.
The public performance begins with a dessert reception at 7 p.m. followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. A professional photographer will be on hand during the reception for those who would like to have a photo taken with their “sweetheart” prior to the performance.
Tickets for the public evening performance are $15 for adults and $5 for students between the ages of 13 and 17. UAM students with student identification and students under the age of 13 will be admitted free.
There will be a free, 65-minute matinee performance at 1 p.m. for area school children. Because the Fine Arts Center auditorium’s seating capacity is limited to 440, the free tickets will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Call (870) 460-1060 to reserve free tickets.
