Barbara Jean Dolph Thurman, 72, of Dumas, passed away November 4, 2021, in Pine Bluff.

She was born August 12, 1949, in Martinez, California and was the daughter of the late James and Mildred Boyette Dolph. Her parents and granddaughter, Blaire Carlton preceded her in death.

Barbara was member of First Baptist Church where she was in the choir. She was also a member of the Dumas Business Womens and Red Hat Society. Barbara was owner and operator of Classic Cuts Hair Center for 44 years as a cosmetologist. The last few years her son worked with her and as her health declined, he was able to take care of her customers as the operator.

Survivors are her husband, James G. “Butch” Thurman, Jr. of Dumas; son, James G. “Jay” Thurman, Jr. of Dumas; two brothers, Jimmy (Ella) Dolph of Texas and Louie Dolph of Russellville; and grandson, Jake Thurman.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 7 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with at the funeral home with Rev. Dubs Byers officiating. Interment will be at McArthur Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, American Kidney Association, or First Baptist Church.
