Barbara Sue Lambert Riley, 77, of Dumas passed away on August 17, 2015, at her home.
Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Riley worked as a nurse at Desha County Hospital. After the birth of her first child, she devoted the rest of her life to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a generous, kind-hearted soul who was known by her family and friends for her infectious laughter. Until her illness, she attended First Baptist Church of Dumas and greatly enjoyed the fellowship of her Sunday School class.
Mrs. Riley was born on October 24, 1937 in Dumas and was the daughter of the late James Glenn Lambert and the late Oletha Dee Allen Lambert.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin (Bill) Riley, Jr.; her step-mother, Clemmie Lambert; and a step-brother, James Ezell Simmons.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan Melanie Dilbeck (Darrell) of Tyro; two sons, William Glen Riley (Rebecca) of Clarksville and Steven Brett Riley of Mobile, Alabama; a brother, James Glendon Lambert (LaNell) of Dumas; a sister, Glenda Vonne Moring (Gene) of Little Rock; a sister-in-law, Lois Simmons Royal of Pine Bluff; five step-grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be August 20 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin Funeral HOme in Dumas.
Funeral services will be held on August 21, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Walnut Lake Cemetery in Dumas.
